In this session, the nature and characteristics of “authentic dialogue” will be explored in connection with the work of Martin Buber, Paulo Freire, David Bohm, Elena Mustakova-Possardt, William Hatcher and Sona Farid-Arbab and in the light of Bahá’í Teachings. The central role that the practice of dialogue plays in psycho-spiritual development, moral empowerment, and in building a mature, world-embracing civilization will also be examined. Finally, participants will consider the relevance of authentic dialogue in addressing America’s “most vital and challenging issue”.
